Announcements May 5th, 2013

Hello Sisters! I can't believe it's May already! April just flew by! Sorry about not keeping up with the blog last month. I'll definitely do better this month, so be sure to keep checking in regularly! :)

There is no visiting teaching message this month. Please choose a message from the May Ensign (General Conference issue) to discuss with those you visit teach. If you would like a copy of the May Sister to Sister newsletter, and/or an updated contact list for the sisters in our ward, please contact Jeanie Cox. She will email them to you. Since this is a public blog, it is important to keep exposure of personal contact information to a minimum.

Announcements:

CORRECTION: Tamara Ridout is getting her Endowments Saturday, May 11th at 9:00 am. (NOT 1:00 pm as previously announced) She would love your support if you can come! Contact Jeanie Cox if you are interested in carpooling.

CORRECTION: If you got a copy of the printed newsletter today, there is a typo in the ward calendar section. It says that Enrichment is May 25th, when it should actually say May 21st.

Saturday, May 11th, 6:00 pm at the church: The men and young men of our ward are hosting a special formal dinner and concert in honor of each of the sisters in our ward. The men really seem to be going all-out for this one! They don't want anyone to miss it, so please make sure the sisters you visit teach know about it! There will be childcare provided.

The Young Women are selling cookie dough as a fundraiser. Two flavors: chocolate chip and peanut butter, and two sizes: 2 lb./ $10 or 4 lb./$20. Contact Ranita Gabell or Naomi Robinson to order. Orders will be available to pick up Wednesday, May 8th 6-8 pm at the church. Checks payable to the Snow Peak ward.

Saturday, May 18th at 9:00 am: Ryan Hugie is doing his Eagle Scout Project at Lacomb School. His project is to improve the landscaping around the track there. Bring your tools and come help out! Did we mention there will be pizza? :)

The Nelsons are getting rid of some furniture (table set, bed, sofa, high chair, etc). Contact Vicki Nelson if you are interested.

The Herbs have access to locally grown grains. Hard red and hard white wheat: 50 lb./$35, and lentils: 10 lb./$18. They come in bags, but you can all purchase buckets with sealing lids if you like. Contact Stephanie Herb if you are interested.

There is an Enrichment Committee Meeting THIS Tuesday, May 7th at 7:00pm! And remember, you can still join an Enrichment Committee anytime. We would love to have you!

ALL sisters are invited to Relief Society during 3rd hour on May 12th (Mother's day). The Priesthood will be taking care of Primary, etc. so please join us! Light refreshments will be served.

Enrichment: Tuesday, May 21st at 7:00 pm. Come learn how to do some basic hair cutting and styling from Britany Rodriguez! (Including kids cuts, bangs, etc!) Plus, tips on how to save time and money on your hair and makeup! Bring a favorite healthy snack to share, and don't forget to invite those you visit teach!

Don't forget to come to Compassionate Service Hour (the hour prior to Enrichment)! Feel the joy that only comes from serving others! :)

Enrichment Groups:
Cooking Group: Thursday, May 16th at 6:30 pm at Sister Baguley's home. She will be teaching us an easy chicken recipe. Please bring $1 to help cover the cost of the meal.

This month's Emergency Preparedness Meeting will be on May 23rd.

Don't forget to keep checking in here, because there will be a lot more added in the next couple of days! And remember you can post comments on any post, as well as make posts in the Sharing Space section. Also, if you scroll down to the bottom of the blog, and put your email address in the "follow by email" box, you can be informed every time an update is made to the blog. :)

Love,

The Snow Peak Relief Society Presidency
